CENTRAL AUSTIN


Cornerstone Hospital of Austin

Accredited, acute care hospital with specialized focus on pulmonary services, from supplemental oxygen therapies to complex ventilator management. Cornerstone Hospital also provides wound care management, care for medically complex patients, and medical rehabilitation. This hospital does not have an emergency room.  

Heart Hospital of Austin

This heart-dedicated facility has been ranked the  #1 cardiac service provider in the entire state of Texas for five years in a row (HealthGrades Hospital Quality in America Study). The entire hospital is dedicated the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease (the nation’s #1 killer). Each of the 58 rooms is a private, self-contained intensive care unit. The 24-hour, full-service Emergency Center is specially equipped for heart emergencies, but is available for any immediate medical emergency.

People’s Community Clinic

This non-profit, primary health care facility is tailored for limited income patients. The People’s Community Clinic was founded in 1970 and provides high quality medical counseling and health education services, emphasizing health maintenance and disease prevention. In addition to primary care for adults, adolescents and pediatric care, PCC offers prenatal care, gynecology and family planning, immunizations, lab work, nutrition counseling, and more. PCC is not equipped with a specialized emergency care unit and is not open 24 hours.

Seton Medical Center Austin

The largest medical/surgical acute care center in Austin, Seton Medical Center is also the only hospital in Central Texas that performs heart transplants. SMC has been named a Consumer Choice Award winner every year since the award was created in 1996 (NRC Healthcare Market Guide). SMC provides a massive area of specialties and critical care services, and is designated as a Primary Stroke Center. The hospital is currently undergoing another expansion, a 124,000-square-foot, five-story addition dedicated to obstetrical services. When complete, it will provide the capacity for 5000 births annually.  

Seton Shoal Creek Hospital

A hospital dedicated to mental health and substance abuse services. Seton Shoal Creek is located on the west side of the Seton Medical Center campus. Inpatient and outpatient services are available, as well as a licensed staff on 24-hour on-call status. Services include intensive psychiatric stabilization for immediate emotional crises as well as less intensive, long term treatment for milder situations. The hospital also facilitates and hosts a wide range of support groups for mental health and substance abuse on a regular basis. The hospital does not have an emergency room. The adjacent Seton Medical Center Austin does.

St. David’s Medical Center

Centrally located with a staff of more than 1600 physicians covering every specialty. St. David’s Medical Center has provided comprehensive care in Austin since 1924. The hospital is a Primary Stroke Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, and has the largest Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit in Central Texas. Other areas of specialty expertise include neurology, neurosurgery, cardiac services, bariatric surgery, and orthopedics. The hospital’s Maternity & Newborn Services deliver more than 5000 births annually and features “Kangaroo Care,” allowing babies and their mother to stay skin-to-skin to promote bonding.  

St. David’s Rehabilitation Hospital

An 80-bed rehabilitation hospital firs opened in 1982 specializing in patient recovery from a wide range of injuries and illnesses. This hospital is situated on the campus of the St. David’s Medical Center, and offers inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation services such as aqua therapy, neurological therapy, neuromuscular retraining, orthopedics, and programs for multiple sclerosis, lymphedema, Parkinson’s, and more.
 
University Medical Center at Brackenridge

First opened in 1884, named Brackenridge Hospital in 1929, now officially University of Medical Center at Brackenridge. This hospital has won numerous awards and is recognized nationally for its preeminent Brain and Spine Center and reputation for prevention of stroke. Brackenridge is the only Level II Trauma Center in Central Texas, and the busiest in the state. The name change in 2008 to UMC at Brackenridge reflects the hospitals ongoing excellence in medical research and academic medicine. It is a member of the Seton Family of Hospitals.


NORTH AUSTIN


Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas

Formerly the Children’s Hospital of Austin, the expanded, updated Dell Childrens’ Center opened in 2007. It is the only dedicated pediatric facility in the region, providing services for a 46-county area. Dell Children’s is a member of the Seton Family of Hospitals. In addition to the premier service and care for the area’s children, the Medical Center can boast its environmental health, as it is on track to become the first hospital in the world to achieve Platinum Status by the LEED program of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Seton Northwest Hospital

A 124-bed hospital with a wide range of medical, surgical, and specialized services. Seton Northwest has received repeated national accolades for its nursing staff and care. The American Nurses Credentialing Center awarded Seton Northwest its highest honor, Magnet status, which is bestowed upon only 3% of hospitals in the United States. The specialized Women’s Center includes a Level II neonatal nursery. The 24-hour Emergency Department is designated a Level IV Trauma Center.  

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center

Conveniently located just off Mopac, this 228-bed, full service hospital serves Austin with an open staff of more than 1000 physicians in a wide range of specialties. Offering state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient services since 1995, this hospital continues to grow. A 377,000-square foot woman’s facility is scheduled to open in April 2009. The 24-bed emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day. The hospital includes two 12-person Hyperbaric chambers for treatment of traumatic wounds, burns, or driving accidents.

SOUTH AUSTIN


Seton Southwest Hospital

A targeted acute care center for southwest Austin and regional Travis Country communities. The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient/outpatient medical, surgical, obstetric services, as well as the Seton Southwest Rehabilitation center with advanced outpatient rehab treatment for sports injuries, occupational therapy, post-operative rehab, ergonomic assessments, wellness clinics, and a pilates center. 24-hour emergency care is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians.

St. David’s South Austin Hospital

A 252-bed hospital offering comprehensive care and a recently expanded 24-hour emergency center, with 40 treatment rooms and the latest in emergency treatment technology. The hospital’s Heart & Vascular Services department includes an Accredited Chest Pain Center. Among a wide array of specialties, South Austin Hospital offers Hyperbaric Care for intense wounds and problematic wound healing. The Maternity and Newborn Services includes extensive childbirth and parenting classes.

ROUND ROCK

UMC is a 68-acre health care campus including a brand new full-service, 72-bed hospital with specialty services in the fields of heart and vascular, orthopedic, diagnostic imaging, women’s and children’s services. The new hospital boats four technologically advanced operating rooms and six intensive care unit beds. UMC includes a fully staffed 24-hour emergency room providing minor and major emergency care. In the most extreme cases, patients can be assessed for transfer to Scott & White’s Level I Trauma Center (the highest level of specialty emergency care) at their hospital in Temple, the only Level I facility between Dallas an San Antonio. The UMC Clinic provides physicians for a wide range of healthcare specialties, such as allergies, optometry, dermatology, urology and pediatric care.

Seton Medical Center Williamson

The largest, and only faith-based, hospital in Williamson County, the brand new Seton Medical Center Williamson has the capacity for 181 with plans to expand in the future. In addition to traditional medical, surgical, and specialist departments, the hospital’s unique features include a waterscaped, nature-inspired healing garden to soothe and comfort patients; a freestanding chapel and interfaith reflection room; a dedicated Women’s Center with separate entrance for OB/GYN, labor and delivery, and post-partum care. The emergency room is prepared for minor and major emergencies 24 hours a day.

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center

A state-of-the-art hospital with inpatient capacity of 177 beds with private rooms, St. David’s Round Rock hospital boasts a medical staff of more than 600 physicians. The hospital’s Heart & Vascular Services received national recognition by the American Heart Association and is also an accredited Certified Chest Pain Center. The 24-hour Emergency Department is a 24-bed unit equipped to handles emergencies big and small. St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center was recently awarded the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Achievement Award.

CEDAR PARK

CPRMC is a joint venture between Community Health Systems and Seton Family of Hospitals. It consists of 150 licensed beds and a staff over 300. Its 24-hour Emergency Department includes 18 private patient rooms and two high-acuity treatment rooms for possible heart attack and stroke cases. The hospitals surgical suites include the latest medical technology, and the Maternity Services features home-like childbirth suites.

GEORGETOWN


St. David’s Georgetown Hospital
