March 7 - 16th 2008 Austin hosts one of the worlds most exciting Music, Film and Interactive Media Festivals this week in March. Since its beginning in 1987, this festival and conference has become one of Austin's biggest events involving thousands of artists, musicians and music,film and Interactive media lovers from all over the world. The Music Conference, Festival & Trade Show begins March 12th with the Austin Music Awards. This awards show features artists being entered into the Austin Music Hall of fame and will showcase many famous musicians from the Austin music scene and its history.
A big part of the festival is the Music Trade Show + Exhibition. Over 120 companies exhibit in the Music Trade Show to connect and promote with today's entertainment industry decision makers and talent. Thousands of SXSW Platinum and Music registrants plus hundreds of SXSW showcasing artists explore the Trade Show visiting with attorneys, educators, graphic designers, labels, managers, marketing agents, music equipment manufacturers, print media reprsentatives, performing rights organizations, PR agents, publishers and radio stations.
