The Music Resource Center of Austin is in urgent need of donations
and funding for scholarships in 2007. The Music Resource Center of Austin, a non-profit arm of the Lone Star School of Music which raises money to provide lessons and instruments to children who may not have the privilege due to economic hardships, is seeking monetary donations and instrument contributions for 2007.
?We had a great outpouring from the community this year to help fund our program, but the new year has arrived and with that, new students and a definite shortage in funds?, replied Jay Bramble President of the MRCA. Donations are implemented through scholarships for socially or otherwise disadvantaged youth in the greater Austin area. Kurt Phillips, president of the Lone Star School of Music said, ?I have been thrilled to see the effect this program has had on the lives of children and their families, we hope to continue to make an impact throughout the new year.? The Lone Star School of Music provides lessons and classes through the scholarships funded by the Music Resource Center of Austin. Donations are accepted in the form of memberships, cash contributions and instrument drops. Memberships provide several levels of giving and include access to MRCA events and shows. Direct cash contributions go directly to fund a scholarship, while instrument donation helps to stock the lending library.
