 One of Austin's favorite live music venues, The Austin Music Hall is set for some renovations and an expansions. Currently this club holds around 3000 people, the changes will allow for over 7000. The new size of the venue and sound system will hopefully attract some of the larger tour acts to Austin that are too small for the Erwin Center.
Many famous acts from Eric Clapton to Roky Erickson have performed on this stage and the venue hosts hundereds of concerts a year including the Austin Music Awards every spring. The changes were made possible by an allience between the 360 condo project that is building next to the Music Hall and the owners of the Austin Music Hall. The drawings showing improvements are now available for veiwing. The completion should be in spring 2007. Personally I still miss the old Liberty Lunch Venue, but I may be a bit "old Austin". |
