The poetry of Spencer Perskin
Written by Spencer Perskin
this is from 'earthbeat' written about 1966---

nomads eat the void of plenty
shepherds star the way with fleece
secretly where mildmaids gather
lain with lay enduring peace

with so unmolested pleasure
let the bird convey his song
let the lion have his meat
boundless joy unknowing measure

bless his head and point his feet

and another from later in the same book--

eliminate ex
postulate
examine motives
conjur invective

cum in peace
head for same
raise dust
clean the floor

be a broom
carry feathers
burn indigo
marry in the street

turn in cowboys
lasso stumps
read Luther
study candles

hello crazy angels
carry the soup
lay the minister
blow his friends

don't carry lightning
swim naked often
lie in the way
don't scold after noon

waste away
become a bison

think that'll hold ya fer a while ??
