GO KINKY, the TV show!

Kinky on TV!First off, I’d like to make it very clear that the site does not endorse any candidate in any political race. However, there is a new television show on the Country Music Television channel about an Austin-based candidate that bears watching if you enjoy the culture of our town.

"Go Kinky" is a new series of two half hour episodes produced by CMT that follows Kinky Friedman around as he cracks jokes and talks about politics in Austin. The show features appearances by local musicians such as Willie Nelson, Ray Benson, Billy Joe Shaver and Cleve Hattersly of Greezy Wheels.

They show a roast for Liz Carpenter taped downtown at the Driscoll Hotel, a discussion aboard Willie’s bus, music from Willie’s Picnic, a concert from the Continental Club and street scenes from various Austin locales such as the State Capitol Building. Many shots are taped while driving around downtown Austin.? They show interviews with Dwight Yoakum and Bill Clinton, who talks about the time that Kinky offered him a Cuban cigar.

Showtimes are random but can be found by going to CMT.com and clicking on "Go Kinky".
