14 world-class musicians over three nights on ZACH's most intimate stage, during one of the world's biggest music festivals.  Do not miss this opportunity to see music at ZACH as you simply cannot see it anywhere else.  (Comfortably seated within ten feet of the artists!) Given the fact that there will be so many great musicians in such close proximity, you can also expect to see them collaborate spontaneously throughout the festival. Guy Forsyth (Austin) - It's been a long and dusty, winding road for Austin singer/songwriter Guy Forsyth that's lead to a recent surge in praise over his dazzling live shows and his rich Americana roots sound.  Forsyth's music (vocals, acoustic, electric, & slide guitar, harmonica, ukulele, singing saw) is a unique mixture of styles including folk, rock, country, and Tin Pan Alley and it creates a sound that's as heterogeneous, raw and compelling as America itself. Click here for video.

Wendy Colonna (Austin) - Award winning musician and songwriter, Wendy Colonna's music is a savory gumbo of soul, poetry and groove.  This is her second performance on the Whisenhunt, having shared an evening with Dave Madden and Strings Attached last September. Click here for video.

Drew Smith (Austin) - one of Austin's most solid young folk-pop songwriters.  Austin.com says of Drew, "Simultaneously pop-hook catchy (for the here and now) and smart-art NPR-ready (for the critical immortality.)" Click here for video.

Ruby Jane (Austin) - Ruby Jane is fast becoming one of Austin's most well known musicians - and she's only 15 years old.  Willie Nelson says, "She is a great picker, fiddler, songwriter, and singer with an amazing career in front of her. I love her!"  But don't take Willie's word, see you yourself! Watch her with Willie Nelson and Asleep at the Wheel.

Day 2: March 18th

Monte Montgomery (Austin) - Widely recognized as one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world, and having won the Austin Music Award for Best Acoustic Guitar eight years in a row, Monte's incendiary musical skills are matched only by his well-crafted songwriting and humbly engaging personality. Click here for video.

Seth Horan (Reno, NV) - virtuoso bassist and songwriter, his looping and mind-boggling fretwork never outrun his taste and fundamental musicianship. Click here for video.

Poul Krebs (Denmark) - is among the biggest stars of Danish roots, rock and pop, with a career as a singer/songwriter spanning more than 25 years. His own albums has combined sales of more than 1,000,000 copies.

Molly Venter (Austin) - Molly's songwriting is as deep as her performance is passionate.  She performed with John Pointer at ZACH in October and this is her second of what we hope will be many shows on the Whisenhunt. Click here for video.

S
eahorse (Austin) - it is a rare pleasure indeed to see David Lee Hess and Chris Downey perform as Seahorse.  They have been playing together now for nearly two decades, and the practice shows.  John Pointer says, "I nearly cried when I saw them on the Whisenhunt last October - they are just that good.  Everyone should know them."

Day 3: March 19th

John Pointer (Austin) - Having first taken the stage at ZACH as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, John brings everything he has to his solo shows on the Whisenhunt - literally.  Guitars, cello, vocal acrobatics, human beatbox, stomps and even musical saw, which he learned to play just for his role in the ZACH production of The Grapes of Wrath. He has been bringing live music to ZACH since January 2009, and "Zach by Zach Scott" is his most ambitious presentation yet.  Watch John play "Kashmir" at ZACH.

Dave Madden (Austin) - Having shared an evening on the Whisenhunt last September with Wendy Colonna and Strings Attached, this is Dave's second appearance at ZACH.  The Austin-American Statesman says, "If someone walked in mid-chorus, he or she might think it was a lost track from the Coldplay's "Parachutes" sessions."  Amanda Newman, of finelinelive.com says, "His music is earthy, his songs intelligent and well written, his voice downright sexy in that whisper/raspy/creaky way I like so much." Here he is, playing totally acoustically on the Whisenhunt with Wendy Colonna, Chad Pop and Strings Attached.

Ginger Leigh (Austin) - a fifth-generation Texas Musician and global artist featuring a variety of styles from rock to Latin to pop, blues and jazz, Leigh brings a classy modern mix of uniquely high-spirited music and entertainment to every performance. Performing "Poetry Man" with John Pointer on cello.

Gudrid Hansdottir (Denmark) - is from the Faroe Islands, which are 18 small islands in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. She has performed all over Scandinavia and Germany as a solo artist and with her band.  Her music is a mixture of pop and folk music inspired
by Swedish pop and 70´s rock.

Jens Lysdal (Denmark) -  one of Denmark’s most respected and best reviewed singers, composers, and guitarists and also a triple award-winning producer.  His style is subtle and poetic, but at the same time with an unmistakable sharpness in both playing and writing.

Toni PriceToni Price has been one of my favorite singers on the planet for into a dozen years. He vocal inflections remind me of a southern -fried Billie Holiday that  meets the blues of Austin,Texas.  Somewhat private, shy, and not prone to giving interviews, we were quite elated that she decided to open up about her career, and people she knows and loves.
