Instead of performing with the Freddie Steady 5, Freddie Krc and Cam King revive their legendary EXPLOSIVES on Saturday, February 27. Every month, Freddie and Ruta Maya Coffee House, South Austin’s coolest room, host a rock and roll revival with a good beat you can dance to.
Freddie Steady earned his cool name keeping the beat behind everyone from Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters to The Faces’ Ronnie Lane, but it was the jangly rock & roll of the Beatles that first captured his imagination. Freddie has created a solid body of work fronting legendary Texas bands, the Explosives, the Shakin’ Apostles, Freddie Steady’s Wild Country, and the Freddie Steady 5.
The Explosives will be joined by a host of rock and roll pals for Freddie’s monthly residency at Ruta Maya! On the fourth Saturday night of every month, the Freddie Steady 5 will rock the Ruta with special guests! Does anybody remember rock and roll? Freddie Steady and Ruta Maya do.
