Warm candlelight and an eclectic mix of prose and angelic carols will warm hearts in the midst of the cold winter at Austin Children’s Choir holiday benefit performance of “Candlelight Lessons and Carols” on Sunday, December 20 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Kathleen Turner and the Austin Children’s Choir will continue their 24th season with a production that will include an assortment of holiday readings from Michael Meigs, AustinLiveTheater.com’ executive editor, and music including carols from the choir accompanied by the sounds of oboe and piano, played by Artistic Director of the Austin Children’s Choir, and classical guitar played by Tony Morris, producer of Classical Guitar Alive! radio program which is broadcast each week on over 200 radio stations.

A wine and cheese reception will follow each performance to celebrate the holidays and togetherness.
ABOUT THE AUSTIN CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Founded in 1986, The Austin Children's Choir includes three graded choirs with members ranging in age from 5 to 18 years old. Their mission is to enrich the lives of Austin-area children with the joy and discipline of high-quality choral singing. The vision is to provide the Austin music scene with the unique sound of a well-trained children's choir. The Choir offers many public performances and are not directly affiliated with or sponsored by any religious organization and are proud to be the oldest and finest choir of our kind in Central Texas.

The Austin Children’s Choir is a non-profit organization formed as a gift to this city by former Concordia University Professor of Music Dr. Bernard Gastler. The chord he struck in 1986 still resounds not only throughout Austin, but all over Texas.
