September 20th I went to the Saxon Pub to see Bobby Whitlock. He will be playing there at 6pm Sundays so you have an oportunity in which to catch something you will remember for a very long time. Bela Fleck, Zakir Hussain and Edgar Meyer now reign like gods over the jam band scene. Of course this couldn't be further from the truth because I doubt anyone under 30 years old barely knows who they are. Austin singer songwriter Fredy Argir has released a new C.D. called Last Time Around. Fredy’s voice is his main gift. Most guys who hope to sound authentic would die for his effortless delivery and gravel road tone. Good songs, good production, good back up musicians, its all here. Now of course here in the city of a million bands you might never hear or see him but that doesn’t change the fact Fredy’s got it all going on.
