Flipnotics Triangle T. Jarrod Bonta 8:00 / Free Country, Western Swing, Jazz Every Monday at the Triangle, usually fronting his trio. Bonta has played keys on a number of Texas artists’ recordings, including Wayne Hancock, Johnny Bush and Shaun Young. Hole in the Wall Corinne Rose 9:00 Twang So rare is it to hear something that fits so squarely in a particular genre yet sounds nothing like what you know in that genre. Corinne Rose and her current band are that rarity. For the sake of ease, we’ll call it twang.  Dustin Welch Momo’s Dustin Welch & The House Band, Nathan Singleton’s Sideshow Tragedy, Jeremy Nail 9:30 / $5 Roots Rock, Americana, Punk, Pop Dustin Welch’s tight romp through Appalachian stomp rock is best enjoyed with a shot of whiskey. The House Band was formed with fellow Momo’s resident musicians, and takes the stage at 10:45. Singleton precedes, and we must say, is very hard on himself with the whole “tragedy” thing. Jeremy Nail finishes after midnight. Mother Egan’s Mark Stuart 9:30 Acoustic Roots Front man for Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, Stuart and his guitar go it alone tonight. Mozart’s Coffee Roasters John Wilson & Joley Flowers 7:30 / Acoustic, Christian Elegant guitar work and songs of worship and life. Nuno’s on Sixth Rusty Trapps & The Blue Lites w/ Ray McCarty 8:00 Blues, Smooth Jazz, Funk Nice keys add a soothing vibe to the blues and jazz hooks being laid down. Featuring Sick on fiddle (That Damned Band, Sick’s Pack, Bourland and formerly Asylum Street Spankers) and the burlesque cabaret of Lady Bangs (aka Raina). Red Eyed Fly Found Objects, Adorned in White 10:00 Electronic, Experimental, Power Pop Experimental Indiana duo, Found Objects, find music where others let it fall between the cracks. Phoenix’ Adorned in White tiptoe between power pop and metal; leaning toward the power pop. Sam’s Town Point Breck’s Stormy Monday Open Blues Jam 8:00 / Free Open blues jam, so if you got your 12-bar down, sit in with the band why don’t ya. Players get their red beans and rice for free. Saxon Pub Bob Schneider’s Lonelyland, Hector Ward, Josh Tatum 8:30 / $10 Rock, Adult Alternative Schneider’s musical explorations continue to evolve, but many Bob-heads hold the Lonelyland era as the gilded age. Speakeasy Jonathan Terrell 10:30 / Free Americana Lively, upbeat acoustic Americana on the rooftop terrace. Stubb’s Wilco 7:00 The band may be legendary, but the show is sold out. Should be tickets somewhere though. Threadgill’s Lee Duffy & Friends 8:00 / Free Americana, Singer Songwriter Duffy’s friends include Will Sexton, Floyd Domino, Marvin Dykhuis and more. So a pretty nifty evening of music to go with your home cookin’ at Threadgill’s. Trophy’s FOAMY 10:00 Rock, Experimental Former New Bohemian John Bush fronts, jockeying between singer and spoken word, though generally dishing out the rock and the roll either way. |
